New project launched by Blackpool Advocacy - MOTIVATE.
We are promoting a new project to people which entails recruiting and training mental health service users to become mental health advocates. The projects aim is to provide a safe environment for people who have been out of work due to mental ill health. We will be working with them as individuals to develop their skills, i.e. I.T, so that they will eventually, when they are ready, move into paid employment. Chris, a volunteer at Blackpool Advocacy, says: "I am a mental health service user who is personally involved in this project and my belief is that it is ideal for people who, like myself , need a supportive environment to grow into successful employees."
